About us

Our names are Ute Kurz and Wolfgang Kurz and we live in Stuttgart , a city in the southwest of Germany.

I (Wolfgang) was born in 1941 and my wife Ute is 2 years younger. We are married since 1970.

My original profession is land-surveyor, but I actually work since 1970 as an engineer in Information Technology.

No wonder that my main hobbies are IT related.

A lot of time I spend with the development of various tools to support cine film digitizing. These are:

• CineFrameCatcher - a tool that allows with a digital microscope to catch the images of a cine film (Super 8, Single 8, Normal 8, 9.5 mm Pathé and 16 mm) as single frames in order to compose a video from them.
  CineFrameCatcher is the successor of CineToVidPro!
• CineToVidPro - a suite of tools that allows with a good flatbed scanner to digitize cine films (Super 8, Single 8, Normal 8, 9.5 mm Pathé and 16 mm cine films even with optical sound track) in order to generate videos.
• FrameCleaner - a tool to clean scanned images of cine films from dust and fluff.
• DiaCleaner - a tool to clean scanned images of transparencies from dust and fluff.
